Humble my heart;
too easily I let self-righteousness rule.
Focus my eyes;
it’s so tempting to look at physical circumstances and judge, compare.
Captivate my mind;
I chronically over-think and analyze until I trust my own thoughts over Your perspective.
Holy Spirit, come and soothe my frenzied soul.
Quiet my inner life until I can finally listen, breathe easily.
I long to rest in Your arms like a child who knows no striving or fear of lack,
but is simply and deeply content to be in their Mother’s embrace.
Today, and each day You give,
I choose to trust Your care for me.
